ANNIHILATE YOUR PANDEMIC PUDGE with HCG Medical Weight Loss

To be quite blunt, 2020 has been a year of excess weight gain for many of us 🤷‍♀️ (NO JUDGMENT). With all of the COVID-19 madness going on, people have been sleeping and exercising less, while ALSO eating more. And this is all completely understandable! Our routines have been totally thrown off, and anxiety is at an all-time high right now 😬. A treatment that is becoming increasingly popular at THE MED SPA® is our medical weight loss program. I use what’s known as the HCG diet for this process. This diet combines both hormonal therapy and calorie restriction for fast results. Let’s dive deeper into what this is all about! 🧐

What is HCG?

HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is actually a hormone that the human body naturally produces during pregnancy 🤰. This hormone essentially “alerts” a woman’s body that it is now pregnant. This hormone helps keep the steady creation of key hormones like progesterone and estrogen. HCG is said to (not proven by the FDA) make fat easier for the body to use and burn. We typically administer this hormone via injection 💉.

How Does The HCG Diet Work?

The diet used for this program utilizes low-fat, and low-calories. We like to divide the diet into three phases at THE MED SPA®; altogether, this is about a 6-10 week cycle total, depending on your current composition.

Here is a brief summary of each of the three phases:

Loading phase: When your first injection of HCG is given, the loading phase has begun. This stage is also known as the “gorge” phase and for good reason. You will actually be told to eat an abundance of foods with high-fat and high-calorie content 🍔🍕🍩. This is mainly to help you in the week ahead, as you will most likely experience some extreme hunger in phase 2. This will also give your body the energy it needs, due to the coming calorie restrictions...

Weight loss phase: In this phase, you will continue to be given HCG, however, your diet is where there will be a big change. You will be instructed to eat 500-1,200 calories per day (total caloric intake will depend on your current physique). You will also be given a list of approved meats, vegetables, fruits, etc. that you may eat during this time. The timing of the meals doesn’t matter too much, but we generally recommend that you spread your calories into two meals a day. High water consumption is also recommended.

This diet might sound a bit extreme, but keep in mind, this isn’t long term; it will last for around 3–6 weeks. Obviously, eating in such an extreme caloric deficit is not healthy in the long term! This phase of the program is basically “training” your body to eat in more moderate portion sizes and stop craving the wrong types of foods. You will also experience the bulk of your weight loss during this period. This is also a bit of a ‘reset’ phase. You should see improved concentration and energy levels at the peak of this phase.

Maintenance phase: In this last phase, you won’t be given HCG anymore. This period will last around three weeks, during which we slowly increase your caloric intake. You will need to keep your sugars and carbs to a minimum. You will most likely experience a bit more weight loss during this period, but nowhere near as much as you did during the weight loss phase.

As we mentioned, this diet is very extreme. We would not recommend that you try an endeavor like this without the guidance of a trained medical professional. We actually don’t recommend that anyone go on this for any longer than they need to. In fact, if your weight gain isn’t extreme, we’ll typically just have you on the weight-loss phase for around three weeks. The main goal of this is to obliterate that extra fat without doing anything damaging to your long-term health!
